Over the past few years, established email marketing platforms such as AWeber, GetResponse, InfusionSoft, etc. have lost thousands of customers to a new kid on the block and it’s none other than ConvertKit (soon to be Kit).
With thousands of bloggers, marketers, and website owners who swear by it, ConvertKit (soon to be Kit) is not going anywhere any time soon. In fact, it has only gotten better over the years with more improvements and integrations implemented constantly. Since no product is perfect, ConvertKit (soon to be Kit) has its pros and cons. First, let’s see why it is skyrocketed in popularity
- Simple to useThere’s no denying the fact that the user interface is intuitive and simpler to use than AWeber, InfusionSoft, and several other email marketing platforms. The simplicity of it all makes it very attractive to most bloggers who don’t want to spend days figuring out the tech stuff.

With it’s double opt-in feature, the subscriber will NOT need to click on a confirmation email (if you don’t want them to). In fact, the very first email that’s sent out upon subscribing can contain the download link for the freemium you’re offering. Once the subscriber clicks on the download link, ConvertKit (soon to be Kit) will register that action as a double opt-in. Isn’t that fantastic? You bet it is! Over and above that, because the emails are mostly text-based, they tend to look great on both PC and mobile. Neat, clear, and to the point. Just like how all emails should be.
- Excellent featuresWith the tagging feature, you’ll be able to email your list based on their actions. If they click on a link in your email and get tagged, it’s a sign that they showed interest in what you’re offering. You can just email those who showed interest instead of bombarding the whole list with repeated emails. Better targeting, less burden on the subscribers, and improved open rates. Can you ask for more? ConvertKit (soon to be Kit) is awesome. With the visual sequences feature, you can nurture your new subscribers and move them from sequence to sequence easily while you build a relationship and also get passive sales. Once you’ve set up the sequences, it’s a hands-off process.

The consThere are a few cons, but none are deal breakers.One downside of ConvertKit (soon to be Kit) is that it’s a little bit more expensive than GetResponse and even the granddaddy of them all, AWeber.
However, it’s not as expensive as InfusionSoft or the other high-end email marketing platforms. ConvertKit (soon to be Kit) lies somewhere in the comfortable middle.
The beginner marketer who is on a tight budget may be averse to having to pay more for ConvertKit (soon to be Kit). But if you look at the benefits that come with ConvertKit (soon to be Kit), you’d realize that you’d be very remiss to give it a pass just because it costs a few dollars more. This is an excellent email marketing platform.
Another drawback of ConvertKit (soon to be Kit) is that its email templates are very limited. If you’re trying to create flashy emails with fancy images, ConvertKit (soon to be Kit) is not for you.
Quite frankly, you don’t need such emails to get sales, unless you’re running an ecommerce site and may need to use several images in your emails.
If that’s the case, ConvertKit’s (soon to be Kit) simplicity will not suit your needs. (Do note that emails with lots of images generally get flagged by most email provider’s spam filters.)
Other than these 2 disadvantages, there’s not much else to worry about. Do remember to look at the ConvertKit (soon to be Kit) integrations before signing up for it. You may wish to integrate some of your other tools with it ñ and it’s best to check if that’s possible.
All in all, ConvertKit (soon to be Kit) is a first-rate email marketing platform that’s simple, has lots of functionality, and has high deliverability rates. Not to mention that it’s affordably priced and your emails look beautiful.
